My Favourite Looks of 2016!

2016 has been a crazy year for me here on my blog! I started this slice of the internet at the end of January with my first post on the 31st. From there I have achieved things I never thought I would. I have loved experimenting with different trends and colours. Having this blog has definitely given me more confidence within myself as well as to try new looks/shades, so thank you to everyone who has liked/followed/left me lovely comments!

So to celebrate my first year of blogging I have 7 of my favourite blog posts I’ve done. Now don’t get me wrong, all of my posts have had a lot of effort, thought and time go into them. But these 7 are my favourite looks I’ve done this year, they are in chronological order of when they were posted!

This simple Glitter Liner I did back in April (I remember when I did this as I was in Bournemouth for my boyfriends birthday) was the start of me really exploring different styles of makeup and I loved wearing it. Even though it’s so simple this was me dipping my brush into what would become a favourite past time; trying new makeup trends/looks.  Also I miss brunette me, as much as I love the blonde this picture is making me miss it.

This Golden Eyes & Bold Lip look was probably the first time I had achieved a proper ‘smokey’ eye (I know it’s a subtle smokey but the thought was there) and I was super proud of myself for persevering with trying to achieve this look.

Another look I did to go out of my comfort zone is this Simple Festival Look. I really wanted to incorporate white eyeliner in a look and this is what I had come up with.

The Halloween looks I did, Ice Queen and Halloween Glam I loved doing (I’m counting these two as one as they are both Halloween and I couldn’t choose just one).  I really wanted to push myself and go out of my comfort zone. I really loved how they both looked and I hope to be even more creative and out of my comfort zone next Halloween!

Another look out of my comfort zone was using red shades, I have seen countless videos using this gorgeous shade. When I finally tried it on myself I understood why they loved doing this kind of look. It’s so easy yet looks so glam and like more effort had gone into it then what actually had. This Autumnal Glam was recreated again and again as I loved it so much.

A more recent post inspired by makeup artists I had seen on my social media as well as NikkieTutorials,  I love the helix eyeliner trend. It was simpler than I had thought and I loved doing this Helix Eyeliner.

And finally my last favourite look of 2016 is one I posted most recently and that’s Green Eyes & Red Lips. I had been wanting to do a dark green smokey eye for a while and when I found the perfect eye shadows it all fell into place! I love this look, if I say so myself!

Those are my favourite looks of 2016! I look forward to doing even more different looks next year! I’ve come to realise this year that actually I love going out of my comfort zone when doing makeup, and if I don’t like it I can just wash it off and start again!

Thank you for reading, until next time!

All the looks are so unique and different. I’d have to say my favorite would be the Autumnal Glam I lovee the color on your lips and the slight accent on your eyes, such a pretty combination. But I also must say that I think I love the red lips on you too, in the last photo- gorg!

Thank you! I wouldn’t recommend the NYX one as it’s actually not meant for the eyes which I didn’t know at the time! Urban Decay ones are good!x
