Lets Talk: About A Negative Mindset

Hi guys! I have been thinking lately about starting the first series here on my blog all things I have learnt over the past few years  and I wanted to share tips to help you do the same.  As much as I love makeup and the beauty world, something also important to me is mental health. It’s so easy to become bogged down in everyday life and get caught up in things.

I’m really bad at letting a negative mindset affect my mood and my day. Like I can’t shake that feeling off, it’s like this jacket of negativity is glued to me. Whether the cause of the jacket being put on is down to what someone has said to me, if my blog has a slow day or I feel negative about what I’m doing with my life. Those things can all be solved.  Having a negative mind won’t get me any closer to being happier or those problems being solved. So these are some of the things I do to change my negative mindset that I have learned over the past few years.

The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream | Review

Having combination skin can often mean no matter what the weather is doing my skin is always looking oily. After years of trying to combat the oiliness to make it more matte, this year I decided I would embrace it. So earlier this year, as the weather started to get warmer, I picked up The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream in the shade Bright Glow. The Instaglow range come in 3 shades, Bright Glow, Peachy Glow and Warm Glow. I was immediately intrigued by this product as it’s described on TheBodyShop.com to have a multi-tasking formula that illuminates, minimises the appearance of pores, reduces shine,  moisturises for 24 hours and revives skin with a healthy-looking glow. It’s non comedogenic (doesn’t cause blocked pores or blackheads) and suitable for all skin types. Plus it has SPF 20 which adds some sun protection.

L’Oréal Colorista Washout | Review

Ever since the trend of purple/blue/pink etc  hair colour has become more accessible, I have always wanted to try them. But what’s always put me off is hearing of hair horror stories, that the hair dye left their hair green or didn’t wash out properly and left a weird colour. So when L’Oréal came out with a range of shades that wash out after a few washes I was instantly drawn to them.

Not going to lie I did put off buy a shade because I wanted to see what the reviews online would be. And they aren’t the best reviews on Boots.com so I was a little put off.

NYX Lip Lingerie | Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are all good, I currently have a cold. Which I cannot wait until it leaves as I can’t taste a thing! Anyway, onto todays post! Something that really annoys me about makeup brands is when they launch in the US then take forever to make their way over to the UK. When NYX launched the Lip Lingeries I wanted to get my hands on them as I adore the Soft Matte Lip Creams. The Lip Lingeries are described as a weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish.

I have 3 shades out of 24, 12 of which are recently newly launched here in the UK. The first shade I picked up was Push Up which is described as a brown spicy pink. I think it’s a pretty nude and is probably one of the palest nudes I own. Next I picked up Exotic which is desired as a warm mahogany red. This is probably my favourite shade out of all the ones I’ve picked up.

Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner Pen | Review

I have always been a lover of winged eyeliner. Granted it’s a nerve wracking procedure to get both wings to look remotely similar, but I love having winged eyeliner.  Personally I like my wing to be sharp at the end, a matte black finish, smudge proof yet easy to remove at the end of the day.

Having tried a few eyeliners I finally jumped onto the band wagon and tried the Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner Pen.  I enjoy Soap & Glory skin products and have tried a few from their makeup range. Plus they are cruelty free and a lot of their products don’t contain animal animal derived products. So I was looking forward to trying this eyeliner that I seemed to see all over my social media all the time.

Lime Crime Matte Velvetines | Review

I heard about Lime Crime a few  years ago, but of course living in the England meant it was not an easy brand to get my hands on. However after discovering the wonders of Beauty Bay and realising they stocked Lime Crime last year, it was soon added to my Wishlist. At the time I couldn’t really justify spending £15 on one liquid lipstick. A few months later the stars alined and Beauty Bay had a discount on Lime Crime taking them down to £10 or so. I couldn’t resist the temptation and so I placed an order!
I ended up ordering 4 and keeping 2 as the other shades I wasn’t a fan of in real life. I ended up keeping True Love and Red Velvet.

Easy Festival Makeup

I love seeing everyones makeup looks inspired by the festival season. Everything is so out there and creative, each look is so different to the next! So after being inspired by many looks, my post today is my take on a festival look! It’s basically a warm golden smokey eye taken up to the next level  with the added pop of glitter and purple!
