Settling into the new norm

It’s been a while since I update you all on life in lockdown, but to be honest there hasn’t been much to update on. But with new news coming out almost weekly about the stats and that cases are going up, countries constantly being added to the red list I thought I would do a little update.

I’ve been a busy bee working from home and continuing to push myself with makeup looks. Whilst working from home is great in the aspect I don’t have to spend time commuting or thinking about how long I’ll be stuck in traffic on the way home. It has been difficult sometimes with keeping a balance of working and being at home not thinking about working. I also find it quite nice that my mum and I are working from home together as it gives us some company and can make the day easier.

Gyms are now open so I have been trying to get back into routine and keep myself motivated to go. I have found it hard going back to the gym, it was easier at first as hardly anyone went when they were first reopened but now people are feeling more confident it’s waiting around for the machine/area to be free as you can’t ask to how long they’ll be without keeping a distance. Plus certain equipment has been removed/out of service to keep in the guidelines. So I changed the times I went and found it much easier to get to go on everything I wanted to and when there aren’t many people around – just need to keep myself motivated to go and stick to a routine!

Another industry that is now reopened is the beauty industry, which for me means I can now take on clients doing makeup. But it has been hard, people just aren’t booking in much and with the updates that came into place last week, people are cancelling as their plans have been cancelled which is understandable. So whilst I’m not letting that get me down I’m using my time to get creative and try out different looks on myself.

It has been a rollercoaster still and to be honest I think I was naive to think it would be over in a few months and Christmas would be normal. I still have a little hope it might be slightly normal, but it’s only a teeny tiny amount.

So that’s me in a nutshell recently, 2020 has been the weirdest year and one I hope doesn’t spill into 2021. Hope you’ve all been keeping safe and well, until next time
