Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick | Review

I am a sucker for lipsticks, they are the one product in my opinion you can never have too many of. So I finally caved and jumped on the band wagon of the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Pillow Talk.

The Matte Revolution lipsticks are £25 each, and described as:

This luscious matte lipstick not only imparts bold, kiss-proof colour but also hydrates and protects lips with a delicate blend of oils and waxes, together with ‘lipstick tree’ and orchid extracts. Rich in light-diffusing pigments to create the illusion of enhanced lip fullness, the pigment payoff is second-to-none – velvety-textured but non-drying, this keeps lips soft and nourished while creating an arresting make up look. And to ensure application is effortless, there’s an innovative squared-off angled tip which mirrors the precision of a lip brush for the most perfectly defined lip line and cupid’s bow. Choose from 13 stunning shades – ranging from pale and interesting to deep and seductive via classic corals, pinks and stunning scarlets.

As much as I love to try new lipsticks I am quite fussy in the formula. I don’t like super dry formulas that make the lips look cracked and dry, so the Matte Revolution lipsticks I was hoping for £25 wouldn’t be drying.

When I first used it I can’t lie I was actually really impressed, the shade glided on and felt really nourishing. The formula is super hydrating and really doesn’t feel matte at all. I don’t even think it looks matte on.

I have been surprised at how much I have been loving wearing this, I don’t usually opt for bullet lipsticks. I usually find the formulas are either too hydrating and slippery or too matte. Whereas this formula, although it’s described as matte it really doesn’t look or feel it. With matte lipsticks I usually pop a gloss over the top, but I don’t need to with this one!

Wearing the Pillow Talk lipstick and lip liner.

The Matte Revolution lipstick lasted me all day, through eating and drinking and barely needed touching up. Plus where it’s a nude it fades out nicely so it’s barely noticeable when it did slightly fade.

I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I love the Pillow Talk lipstick, it is a cult favourite for a reason, and it will definitely get a lot of love from me! What’s your go to lipstick, let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading, until next time
