Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a fab day! Today I am reviewing the Dose of Colours Friendcation palette in collaboration with Desi Perkins and Katy. The Desi x Katy collaboration with Dose of Colours came out September 2018, I missed out on their first collaboration with Dose of Colours that came out in 2017. I grabbed this palette as I loved how the shimmers looked when swatched.
The collaboration includes the Friendcation palette, 2 lipsticks, 2 lip glosses, 2 velvet liquid lipsticks and 2 lipglosses. The palette is £44 for 10 eyeshadows, it’s described on BeautyBay.com as:
Containing a mixture of long-wearing mattes and ultra-dazzling metallics, Desi X Katy Friendcation Eyeshadow Palette can be used to create a range of stunning eye looks. Part of the Desi X Katy Range, these versatile shades are housed in a stylish copper iridescent case, adding a touch of glam to your makeup routine.
Although it is slightly pricey for 10 eyeshadows, which is £4.40 per eyeshadow, the packaging is gorgeous! With a shimmery gold outer packaging and a gold inside that has a decent sized mirror. There are 5 mattes and 5 metallics:

- Basic – A muted light pink.
- Cheens – A deep chocolate brown.
- Necessary – A neutral mid-tone brown.
- Dirty Money – An olive green with an antique gold shift.
- A Moment – An electric royal blue with a purple shift.
- Try Me – A cranberry red with a burnt orange shift.
- Just A Kiss – An iridescent champagne with a pink-gold shift.
- Girl Bye – A smoky marsala.
- Churro – A rich warm brown.
- Game Over – A midnight black with silver reflects.
When I first got the palette I found the mattes hard to blend and patchy. After a few uses I stopped using it as I couldn’t get it to work. After a few months I picked it back up again and found the metallics to be a dream, they are so pigmented and sparkly! I find the shimmers apply best when applied with a finger as they are so much more pigmented than when on a brush. I started to use the palette just for the metallics. I then started to use the mattes and this time found them to be easier to blend than I had initially.

As I started to use it more, the more I began to like this palette. The metallics make any look really pop, the mattes blend out well. I have really been enjoying using this palette, it’s a great palette whether you’re a makeup junkie, just starting out or anywhere in between. The shades inside are perfect for taking away travelling as you can create a super simple day time look and amp it up with the shimmers for the evening!
Overall I really like this palette, the shimmers are my favourite things to use! They are just so pigmented and when I apply Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal Glitter Liners over the top it takes it to the next level! If you’re looking for a new palette I definitely recommend this one! You can find this palette, and the rest of the Desi x Katy collection on Beauty Bay! What is your go to palette? Thank you so much for reading, until next time
