Current Favourite Foundations for Pale Skin

I have never done a blog post like this, mainly because I’ve always struggled with foundations. So I thought I would share the high end and drugstore foundations I like to use! Before we get into the foundations I like to use, I’ll disclaim that my skin is combination with dry areas on cheeks and oiliness on my t-zone. My skin tone is neutral and I don’t like dewy/glowy foundations.

HIGHEND

Bare Minerals Bare Pro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation
This is a great foundation for an event as it really lasts for hours without breaking up on the skin or making my skin look shiny. It has really good coverage too. It keeps my skin looking fresh without making it look oily!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation
This foundation sits perfectly on my skin all day, no oiliness, and doesn’t breaking up on my skin. However the only thing that would improve this foundation is to be more full coverage. It’s quite light, it can be built up but as there isn’t much product I feel like it’ll be used up quicker than a liquid.

Bare Minerals Original SPF15 Foundation
This is the lightest coverage but is brilliant for a super quick makeup look. I like to use this either for a simple makeup day or for work as it makes doing my makeup so quick!

BECCA Cosmetics Skin Love
This is one of the most recent foundations I’ve bought and I love it. It’s a light-medium coverage and just looks like my skin but better! It is hydrating, doesn’t stick to any dry areas nor does it make me look to shiny! I tend to take this on holiday as it won’t leak and lasts in both colder and warmer climates.

Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Foundation
I’ve saved possibly the best for last, this is the most expensive foundation I’ve bought but it is so worth every penny! It’s full coverage, which isn’t something I go for in a foundation. I apply 6 small dots on my face and it gives me a flawless coverage and blends so well into my skin. It’s perfect for any occasion, it lasts all day/night and I adore this foundation. A little really goes a long way!

DRUGSTORE

NYX Total Control Drop Foundation
This is a good foundation, the coverage is perfect for what I prefer. However I find it can settle in the dry areas of my face if I use too much. Less is definitely more for me with this foundation. 3 drops covers my entire face, leaving a medium coverage that looks natural. Any more and it starts to cling to dry areas.

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation
Like the Total Control Drop Foundation this can also be drying, but not as drying as the drop foundation. It has the perfect coverage for me, not too light but not heavy. Again less is more, I use around half a pump for my entire face. Going over any redness with a little extra. The only annoying thing about this is the packaging, the foundation dries up at the end of the pump making it difficult to get any product out, so I clean a pin before poking it through the pump.

And those are all the foundations/brands I recommend trying for paler complexions. There are so many brands that of course offer a huge variety of shade ranges, the ones I mentioned I found work for me and my skin type. Do you have any foundations you can’t live without? Let me know in the comments below! Thank you so much for reading, until next time

From one pale girl to another, I feel ya! My skin sounds so much like yours, but I really didd’t get along with that Bare Minerals foundation at all? I (stupidly) purchased before testing it, and find it breaks up and makes me look oily so quickly! Do you use a primer with it? I so want to try the Becca foundation out, and I love NYX’s Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation too, although I agree about it being drying. I feel like the hunt for my perfect foundation will just never end!

I use the No 7 Airbrush Away Primer with all the foundations!
The Becca foundation is really good, so hydrating! It’s worth getting a few samples of different foundations from places such as Debenhams or Space NK, then you can try different formulas from different brands to hopefully find one your perfect one!x

I love the Becca skin love foundation at the min. I work at boots & I always recommend it for dry skin – it goes on so nicely & you can pretty much get any type of coverage with it depending on amount and application! It’s so good xxx
