My 2019: March & April

Hello everyone, I hope you all are well! Following on from my January and February update this is what I’ve been up to during March and April! I know we are firmly in May now and this year is flying by, but I figured it’s better late than never to post!

At the beginning of the month I went to Paris with my university. We went for a makeup seminar with Makeup Forever. We spent a day in Disneyland, which you can read about here, and we spent half a day in Paris before going back home, which you can read about here. Paris was such a beautiful city and I’d love to go back to do the Louvre and other sights that I didn’t get to see as we were too short on time.

I had quite a few assessments and hand-ins in March, which meant for the rest of the month I was pretty busy doing uni.

April has been a pretty quiet month after the excitement of going away in February and March. I had 3 weeks off uni, which I spent doing everything but uni work. I felt like I needed to have my shit together ready for when I graduate in the summer, but in reality I just feel a little lost and confused with where I’m going. I’m sure I’ll figure something out. I don’t think it helps when lecturers constantly go on about how close we are to leaving and I’m getting asked a lot on what I want to do and if I have any plans in place. I want to work in the beauty industry but right now setting up my own business isn’t something I can do as I don’t have the space at home nor do I have the clientele to work in a salon!

An unexpected thing to happen later on in the month was that I decided to look for a new job. I have been feeling unhappy in my current role for a while and not valued as a member of staff. Plus with uni coming to an end I wanted to be able to say I had something in place when we graduate. So I had a few interviews and offered a few different jobs. It was a little scary to take a plunge into the unknown, but sometimes we need to do things that are out of our comfort zone and offer new challenges. I start my new job after university and I feel quite nervous to start somewhere new, it’s been so long since I started a new job! Plus I’ll be a senior role, which is a step up from the role I do now! It’s a but daunting but fingers crossed it goes well!

Thank you so much for reading, I’ll be back next month with an update on my May and June! Until next time,
