Hello everyone, as I sit writing this I feel very reflective of 2018. I’m pretty sure I said this in my Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018 and Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017 I feel like this year has been a rollercoaster. Everything that has happened in the past 12 months, the good and the bad has shaped into a person I am so happy to be.
Here’s my 2018 summed up:
JANUARY:
During this month I was mainly stressed about university as I had left a lot of my assessment work to the last minute – I definitely learnt to not do that again! I also planned to go to Brighton for my birthday!
FEBRUARY:
My birthday month! I went to Brighton overnight and it was such a lush little get away. I really love going to Brighton and the weather there wasn’t even like it was winter, it was beautiful!
MARCH:
There wasn’t really anything that stood out this month, other than another flurry of snow! I also went back to my old job, leaving retail behind!

APRIL:
This was when uni work really started to pick up again as I had a exhibition to prep for as well as prepping for the end of year show!
MAY:
The weather really started to get warmer and uni was basically just taking over my life! Other than prepping for the end of year show and wishing for the summer break this month seemed to fly by!
JUNE:
The beginning of a busy summer! After finishing my first year of uni at the very beginning of the month I started to get back into being more creative with makeup! In the middle of the month I saw Ed Sheeran live in Cardiff, a week later I spent a weekend in Weymouth with my family and it was hot!

JULY:
Quite possibly my favourite month of the year as at the beginning of the month I went to Edinburgh! I adore Edinburgh, whilst I’ve only been there once, once was enough to fall in love with this city. I didn’t really know what to expect before going, but pictures really don’t do Edinburgh justice. I had such an amazing time and it’s somewhere I would definitely go again! After having 3 weeks in 3 different parts of the UK, I then went to Kent at the end of July for an open day at the Big Cat Sanctuary.
AUGUST:
My parents had been married for 25 years this month so I spent a lot of time planning and preparing their gift! I spent a lot of time preparing blog posts this month as with September round the corner meaning uni started up again and new hours at work I wanted to be prepared for the onslaught of work that was about to commence. I didn’t want blogging to take a back step like it had in my first year.
At the end of the month I went for a lush day out to Bath with a friend.
SEPTEMBER:
Before starting uni again mid-September I went on a few day trips to new places to make the most of the hot weather before it started to get cooler. We also got a new addition to the family, Max our little fluffy (and very mischievous) fur baby!
The start of my second and final year on my university course, it was quite a shock to the system to start again and the year going to quick made me think a lot about what I wanted to do when I finish. I definitely felt the pressures of being in my twenties and not having my shit together like I thought I would.

OCTOBER:
I still felt the same as I did in September about my life flashing before my eyes and not achieving what I thought I would’ve nor having a clue where I wanted to be in the makeup industry. I looked into different universities for BA courses but nothing really stood out to me. I also started to get more into skin care and taking into account what my skin reacts better to.
NOVEMBER:
At the beginning of the month my family and I went on a photography experience day at The Big Cat Sanctuary, which I keep meaning to write a post about! It was such a great experience and our guide Alma was so lovely and so insightful!
I had quite a few assessments to balance this month and it was a stress to get everything I wanted done. Having 3 assessments one after the other meant a lot of my time went on getting everything prepared.
At the end of the month I went to Bath again with the uni girls and bought a few treats for myself!
I also realised this month where I want to be in the makeup industry and definitely feel happier in coming to a decision where I want to be.
DECEMBER:
This month seems to have flown by, with an assessment at the beginning of the month and getting everything ready for Christmas. This month I have also been reflecting a lot on the past 12 months. Everything I have done, things that have happened and where I want to be in life.

Overall I have had an eventful 2018, I have learnt so much about myself and who I am. I had never really been single/on my own for quite some time, but it was time I needed to be on my own to really conquer a few things by myself. I feel like I have finally started to be who I am and realise that I am okay on my own. Being in the right relationship is amazing, but so can being single.
I am so excited for what 2019 has to bring and the opportunities to be revealed. For the first time in my life I finally feel like the person I used to want to be. A more confident and outgoing person. Someone who can do things on their own, going out to get what they want from life.
My goals for 2019 is to have more experiences and do things that might be a little scary at first. I’ve written up a more detailed post about other goals I have for next year, so keep an eye out for that in the next few days! I’ve already done one thing I wanted to do next year, but decided not to wait 4 weeks and instead just do it. It’s a pole fitness exercise class and so far I am really enjoying it, even if I’m aching a few days after! What are your goals for 2019?
