For a while now I have had the No7 Flawless Finish Blending Sponge and it took me a while to try it – shocker – as I get stuck in a rut sometimes using the same products. I got this as my Mum had the No 7 Advent Calendar and gave it to me as she wouldn’t use it. So it has been in my draw of things to try for a few months, before it was time to switch beauty sponges. No 7 isn’t really a brand I see a lot about online so I was intrigued to see how this beauty sponge would perform.
The No 7 sponge is described on Boots.com as:
The No7 Flawless Finish Blending Sponge gives smooth, even coverage – great for achieving a flawless, airbrushed finish. Perfect for blending, highlighting and contouring.
It can be used damp to achieve a lighter finish, or dry for fuller coverage. It works perfectly with your choice of liquid or powder foundation.
Its rounded base can be used to apply make-up to larger areas of the face. The flat edge can be used to apply around the eyes and nose, and for detailing. The flat surfaces are ideal for contouring.
The sponge has a few different sides, I really like to use the pointed end for blending concealer under my eyes and the rounded side under the tip for blending out foundation. I also use the rounded end for blending in liquid highlight.
For £7 I really like this beauty sponge, it’s quite firm and really easy to blend out cream products. As I have only tried the Real Techniques beauty sponge I can’t compare it to anything else. I find this is much firmer than the Real Techniques one and I find it easier to blend out products. I still use more product using a sponge than I would a brush, but I find the finish is smoother with a sponge. I like to use the sponge both damp and dry.
This sponge has lasted me quite a while, I knew it needed replacing when it would start to leave small black dots on my skin. Especially when the sponge was damp. Overall I think this is a fab edition to a makeup collection and makes applying liquid products super easy! If you’re wanting to try a different makeup sponge I definitely recommend trying this from No 7!
Thank you so much for reading! What’s your go to tool for applying liquid products? Until next time
