Mid-Year Faves 2018

It has been a very long time since I have written a favourites post. It’s mainly because it has been so busy with uni over the past few months and I hadn’t really tried many new products that I had fallen in love with. Now after doing some shopping and getting round to trying new products I have a mid-year favourites! It’s mainly some  new products with a few previous faves thrown in!

To kick off my mid-year favourites I’ll start with an old favourite that I have been loving. The Stila Glitter & Glow shadows are amazing for any season. They make any makeup look go to the next level. Whether for a simple look using one shade and mascara or a few shades and false lashes. I love how quick and easy they are to apply, plus there are so many shades! I adore these gems from Stila.

Keeping in the theme of eyes the Certifeye Tropical Wonders palette is the most recent addition to my collection but it is amazing. The palette is literally a rainbow of shades and they so pigmented! This palette is my go to for a colourful makeup look!

The NYX Suede Lip liners are the best lip liners I have tried, plus are a total bargain! They may be described as being matte but I find them to be super comfortable. The don’t drag on the lip and I don’t find them drying. Plus they are perfect for laying with lip gloss, like my next fave the Buxom lip gloss in White Russian. This is a nude gloss and I love it for either wearing alone or laying with a lipliner/liquid lipstick. It’s not sticky and is super comfortable to wear!

Another more recent favourite is the brand Unicorn Cosmetics*. I had seen these all over social media, and online at Beauty Bay. When Mel, the owner, reached out to me I was so excited to finally try some of the products. The Unicorn Lashes in Forget Me Not have been all I wanted to wear. They are super comfy, easy to apply and they are the perfect style for me! I am in love with these lashes!

Another old fave of mine that I have been loving for the warmer weather is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. The shades I have been loving, especially over the last few months are Ibiza, which is a bold pink, and Morocco which is an orange. They are perfect for simple makeup looks. By adding a bold lip it looks like more effort has been put in for the look. Plus it makes me feel super summery with a bright orange or bright pink lip!

A highlight that is amazing for warm weather is the Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlight Drops. I haven’t tried a liquid highlight until this one and I am obsessed. It really makes my cheekbones pop, catching the sunlight perfectly! Plus it lasts well in the heat without rubbing off or feeling like it’ll melt off!

A few months ago I was gifted a set of Urban Decay brushes. It took me a while to try them out, mainly because I am a creature of habit and would pick up a makeup sponge. When I finally started using the Urban Decay Optical Blurring F105 Brush and I became obsessed. I found with a makeup sponge I would use a lot of product. Whereas with this brush I don’t use half of what I would with a sponge. The brush is dense and blends out foundation and concealer like a dream. Plus I find it quicker than a sponge to apply products.

Another more recent purchase, but one I am totally obsessed with, is the Urban Decay Born To Run palette. It has all the shades I want to create a neutral look as well as more vibrant shades if I want something more colourful. The shades are so pigmented and blend like a dream. Plus I find there isn’t much fall out, so hardly any product is wasted.

Finally another pair of lashes I have been loving are the House of Lashes in Iconic Lite. After seeing so many YouTubers use these lashes, when I saw a UK website sold them I knew I needed them in my life. These are gorgeous lashes. They are fluffy and wispy and are super comfortable to wear.

And those are all my current favourites of this year so far. I’ll try to do more beauty faves over the next few months! I become a creature of habit and like to stick to the same products unless something really catches my eye! Thank you so much for reading! What products have you been loving recently?
