Towards the end of January it was my blogs 2nd birthday and as I was super busy with getting ready to hand in assignments it took my by surprise! It’s crazy to think of over the past 24 months how much my life has changed. Part of that change was thanks to this little space on the internet.
It might sound silly to say that this blog has changed my life. But it totally has. When I first started my blog it was under a different blog name as I didn’t feel comfortable enough to be myself. Which was true to my real life as I had never really been comfortable in my own skin. I was still learning who I was and learning to accept myself.
When I felt more comfortable with blogging and realised how much I loved writing blog posts, sharing makeup looks and beauty reviews. It had reignited my love for writing as well as unlocking my passion for beauty and makeup. Being more comfortable came with a new blog name and I had thrown myself into my little online space.
It wasn’t until last summer 2017 that I realised more that the job I was in, whilst I loved it and for the most part I enjoyed my job, it was no longer something that fulfilled my life. I felt like I had become lost and no longer knew in which way to take my life.
I realised that beauty, makeup and writing were my passions in life. In my spare time I would be thinking of new content, reading other people’s blogs to see what beauty products they recommend as well as watching YouTube videos.
Without this small corner of the internet I would never have applied for a university course. I don’t have A Levels and didn’t even think I would get onto the course, but I got accepted and now I am doing a course I absolutely love. What’s more is that I never thought I would get the opportunity to get into university as I never knew what course I would do, or even how I would manage to do university after being employed full time for a few years. And yet I have, much to my surprise.
Another thing I never envisaged for myself is that I would keep up this blog. I never realised how much I would adore writing about makeup or posts about mental health/what I get up to in my life. Or how much I needed this space when I was feeling low, it was something positive and totally my own.
Finally another thing I never banked on was you, the person reading my content. Every like, every comment and every follow I have gotten has taken me aback. I love interacting with you all and I hope you are enjoying my content as much as I love making it. Thank you so much for reading, liking and commenting over the past two years. I never knew how much happiness blogging would bring into my life.
