NYX Total Control Drop Foundation | Review

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well! I have been super busy with work and keeping on top of uni work!  It snowed again where I lived over the weekend! It’s crazy! Anyway, onto today’s post!

I have had this foundation for a good few months now and it has become a firm favourite! I can’t believe how long it has taken me to do a review post on this foundation!

With a total of 24 shades, it’s described on Boots.com as:

From sheer to full, your ideal coverage is just drops away with NYX Professional Makeup’s Total Control Drop Foundation!

Fine-tune this velvety, matte foundation with the included dropper. Simply adjust the number of drops until you create the look you’re feelin’ today. Want more coverage? Add more drops!

Buff expertly using the NYX Professional Makeup Total Control Drop Foundation Brush for a seriously smooth finish.

I have the shade 06 Vanilla, I was matched at the NYX counter in Cardiff and the beauty advisor matched me to three different shades: a yellow tone, neutral and pink shade. I ended up taking home the yellow toned shade as it matched my skin tone better than the other shades. There are 24 shades in this foundation range, which I think is pretty good.

The foundation applies and blends easily with either a beauty sponge or foundation brush. It matches my skin tone perfectly, which I love. It doesn’t oxidise, flake off or become patchy on my combination skin throughout the day.

For £14 this is my dream foundation. The finish isn’t matte or dewy, but a nice in-between. It compliments my combination skin, and as a bonus it doesn’t break my skin out. It has a dropper application, which you can custom the coverage to how you want it. Which I think is amazing as not every day I want a light coverage and vice vera for a more heavy coverage.

There isn’t a set amount of drops I use for each application, I just wing it. Apply a few drop on my cheeks, forehead and one on my nose and chin. Then go over any redness I may have like around my nose/on any breakouts. On the packaging it recommends a certain amount of drops for a certain coverage; 2 drops for a light coverage; 3 drops for a medium coverage; and 4 drops for a full coverage.

Overall I don’t think I can praise this foundation enough. It has been my favourite foundation I have tried to date. Everything about this I adore. The only thing I would say is that the bottle isn’t very big so using it on a daily basis with, for example, a dropper full each time, it will use the foundation up quicker.

Thank you so much for reading! What is your favourite foundation? Until next time!
