Jouer Long Wear Lip Crème Matte | Review

This is my first product from Jouer, after seeing it on multiple beauty gurus online I decided to try one of their products. To get hold of Jouer I looked on both Cult Beauty and Beauty Bay to see what products they had and their shade range. After looking at the shade selections for their liquid lipsticks I chose the shade Blush as it looked to be a nude rose shade aka my fave shade.

I chose one of their limited edition shades in Blush, at the time of writing it’s still available, as it looked to be one of the darker nudey shades I would wear. There are 3 shades in their limited edition anniversary shades, each £15 with 6ml of product, the same as a shade in their permanent collection. They are described on Beautybay.com as:

A long-wearing, liquid lipstick.

Offering full coverage colour, Limited Edition Anniversary Long Wear Lip Creme Matte is a weightless and non-drying pigment. In a range of both neutral and bold shades, create an effortless matte finish with the tapered, doe-foot applicator.

The one of the first things I noticed about this liquid lipstick is that it has a noticeable scent. It’s much stronger and sweeter than a NYX liquid lipstick (the only other one I can compare it to). The other thing I noticed was that the lid of the lipstick is very small and this makes application quite awkward. I really don’t like this packaging, the lid is far to small.

However it does apply nicely, a little streaky though. Initially when I applied this I applied one coat and it was a little streaky in places so I went over it with a light second layer where it needed more coverage and this was not a good idea.Whilst it didn’t dry my lips out, it make them look very dry and cakey. So I wiped it off and applied one layer, taking care to go over any patches at the end, but without applying a second layer.

With just one layer it doesn’t dry out my lips or feel uncomfortable, but it does make my lips look dry. Which I’m not a massive fan of as it can look, in my opinion, not very pretty in photos.

When I bought the shade I thought it would apply darker than it is, it’s very much a light pinky nude. Not necessarily one I would reach for. But it is a pretty shade nonetheless, and one that can make a makeup look look very fresh. Overall I’m not sure I would buy another shade from Jouer’s liquid lipstick shade, none of the others really appeal to me.

What is your favourite nude lipstick? Thank you so much for reading, until next time!

Ah this shade doesn’t look like one that would suit me, to be honest! I’ve not really been tempted to use their lip stuff either. I think the variety of other liquid lips already on the market are enough! X

Ah I’m so sorry for you that it wasn’t your fave! I love my Jouer Liquid lips I think they’re some of the best out there! I have never tried this shade though so maybe it’s a different formula

I find jouer a real hit or miss. I’ve only tried there highlighters and blush and it kind of had me torn if I should try more. This lipstick looks that good. I kind of like how you need to layer this since the colour would go nice on top of a deep brown feathered into the center. I’ll have to give it a shot

I’ve never tried anything from Jouer. I may have to try this with a shimmer lip gloss on top.. I do think the TooFacer Melted Matte: Child Star would really suit you. It’s a similar colour to this one💕
