It’s that time again for another Empties post! I am really enjoying going through my empties and writing my thoughts and opinions. I also love reading others empties post! So without further ado here are all the makeup and skincare I have used up over the past two months.
Makeup
MAC Velvet Teddy
This was one of my first purchases from MAC, I fell in love with the shade instantly! I love the smell of the lipstick too, it smells like cake. I love wearing the shade when I don’t have to reapply it multiple times. I find the more I reapply the shade, as it’s a matte, it makes my lips feel super dry and they look even drier and just awful!
Repurchase – No as I am only buying from Cruelty Free Brands
No 7 Dramatic Lift Mascara
I got this from a Christmas gift set. At first I really liked it, it separated my lashes nicely and gave them a little lift. However I found the drier the formula got the clumpier it made my lashes. I’ve only been using the mascara for a month and a half and the small tube has gotten quite dry.
Repurchase – No, I have similar mascaras that do the same thing but last longer.
NYX HD Concealer
I picked this up last Spring in the shade Porcelain and it was a little too light for my skin. It is perfect for highlighting under the eyes and all that jazz. I do find this isn’t the most full coverage concealer for my tired af eyes, but with some colour corrector underneath it is perfect for everyday. However I will say the longer I’ve had it and used it, it seems to really oxidise to more of an orange and crease quite badly under my eyes. So as soon as it started to oxidise to orange and make my under eyes look weird I knew it was time to part!
Repurchase – Already have, but in one shade darker.
Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 15 Seductive Pink
I bought this after seeing Zoella using it and after seeing them in store I couldn’t resist picking one up. This is my favourite blush I have tried so far, it’s not too pigmented or glittery. Plus I love that it’s two tones that are mixed together. I think it makes the cheeks look so pretty and if I wasn’t going cruelty free I definitely would have picked up more from this range!
Repurchase – If I wasn’t changing my collection to cruelty free then yes, I so recommend these blushes!
Ardell Demi Wispies
I bought these lashes after seeing them everywhere and I have no regrets in buying these! They look so pretty and are my second favourite lashes, next to the Eylure Flowergirl lashes. The Demi Wispies are prefect for any type of look and I love them!
Repurchase – Yes!
MUA Luxe Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette
I bought this with the intention of doing a look and review on it. However if you have seen my Makeup Collection, you’ll have seen that it’s actually shattered. Which is ironic as when I first ordered it from Superdrug online, the Enchanted palette arrived completely shattered. So a new one was sent to me, it didn’t arrive smashed and all this palette has done is live in my eyeshadow pouch. Yet when I opened it, it’s half smashed. I’m not that surprised it’s smashed, but it’s still slightly annoying. I swatched the palette and the shades were pretty, but it’s not a palette to make a complete eye look from for me personally as there are only shimmers in this palette.
Repurchase – No, it’s far too easy to smash.
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
For me this definitely does the job of keeping my makeup in place. I bought it as literally every YouTuber I watch uses one of the Urban Decay setting sprays and so I wanted one for myself. It doesn’t break me out or make my skin look any oiler.
Repurchase – Already have!
Seventeen Define & Conquer Kit
I was gifted this from Seventeen and I do quite like it. Whilst the setti powder doesn’t work as a highlight as it’s described to, as it matches my skin tone. The contour shade is slightly too orangey when too much is applied. Other than that it has come in so handy for traveling and for everyday use! You can check out my review for it here!
Repurchase – Maybe in the future
Skincare
No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Serum
At first I wasn’t sure about it but after using it for a few nights, but I loved it! It makes my skin feel so smooth and it feels so luxurious on my skin! It’s a anti-ageing serum, meant for women in their 30’s, so whilst I don’t have many wrinkles or fine lines I still loved how it made my skin feel!
Repurchase – Yes, maybe after a few years when I’m closer to the target age of 30!
The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Control Lotion
I picked this up as it had SPF and I wanted to protect my skin more in the warmer weather. However it didn’t really give my skin the moisture it needed and made my skin look even oiler, even though it’s supposed to be an oil-control lotion! I’m not sure if this was due to the SPF in it so it just made my skin appear more oily.
Repurchase – No
The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
I have previously mentioned this in a previous Empties post. It says on the bottle it’s suitable for sensitive skin but I find it really irritates my eyes and leaves them red.
Repurchase – No
No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Night Cream
I really loved using this mini sized night cream. It kept my skin hydrated and it left my skin feeling soft. It didn’t break my skin out which is always a good thing!
Repurchase – Yes, I loved this night cream!
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream
Before using this day cream I had never tried anything from The Body Shop Vitamin E range as I have combination skin, as I thought it would make my t-zone look oiler. But I actually really enjoyed using this, it didn’t break my skin out and kept my skin hydrated without making my t-zone look super oily.
Repurchase – Yes, in the winter time.
The Body Shop Drops Of Youth Eye Concentrate
This was my first purchase from the Drop Of Youth range. As I’m in my early twenties I haven’t noticed this eye concentrate making my eyes look better, but my under eyes haven’t got any worse. I did find when I used this in the morning my concealer would make my under eyes look really dry and I knew it wasn’t the concealer as usually it wouldn’t give my under eyes that effect. So I started using this just in my night time skin care.
Repurchase – No, right now my under eyes need something more hydrating.
Boots Ingredients Sheet Face Mask Charcoal & Willow Bark Cleansing & Purifying
I bought this a while ago as it was the only one I had not tried from the Boots Ingredients Sheet Face Mask range. I was a little apprehensive as the other masks in the range hadn’t done anything for my skin. So I didn’t have high hopes for this mask to do anything. However I was happily surprised when I tried this mask! At first it stung a little around my nose (as I had a cold at the time and it was a little sensitive) but it passed after a few minutes. After I took the mask off my skin felt soft and supple. When I woke up the morning after my skin felt so soft, it didn’t make my skin overly oily. My skin was more textured but I’m not sure if that was entirely the mask or if my time of month was part of that too.
Repurchase – Yes, I am so impressed with this sheet mask! It’s the first sheet mask that has actually done something for my skin!
I also decided to do another declutter of my makeup and reorganise everything as it was all starting to get a little messy. I decided to get rid of The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser as it hasn’t done for me anything it claims to. Next is the NYX Intense Butter Gloss for a while now and I’ve hardly used it. As much as I love the formula I hardly ever wear this shade. I much prefer wearing a dark shade with a matte finish than gloss. A while ago I got the Seventeen Mega Matte Lipsticks and whilst the shades are pretty I never reach for them and prefer liquid lipsticks to bullet ones now.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have enjoyed this empties post! If there’s any products you have been loving please let me know in the comments below, I’m always on the hunt for new goodies to try!
Until next time!

I love empties posts! It’s great to see what someone would actually repurchase. The Ardell Demi wispies are my go-to drugstore lashes! Such great quality for the price. Sounds like I need to try an Urban Decay setting spray. Everyone raves about them!

Does NYX Concealer work to cover up dark eyebags? I am using Revlon but I am wondering if probably NYX is actually much better haha xx

Personally I don’t think so as it hasn’t for me! But I know some people it has! I use a colour corrector under my eyes as I find it helps really conceal dark circles before applying my usual concealer! Hope this helps!x

Ah I think I should try color corrector as well. What brand do you use for that? I am just really tired with the dark circles I have aahh😔
