NYX Lip Lingerie | Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are all good, I currently have a cold. Which I cannot wait until it leaves as I can’t taste a thing! Anyway, onto todays post! Something that really annoys me about makeup brands is when they launch in the US then take forever to make their way over to the UK. When NYX launched the Lip Lingeries I wanted to get my hands on them as I adore the Soft Matte Lip Creams. The Lip Lingeries are described as a weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish.

I have 3 shades out of 24, 12 of which are recently newly launched here in the UK. The first shade I picked up was Push Up which is described as a brown spicy pink. I think it’s a pretty nude and is probably one of the palest nudes I own. Next I picked up Exotic which is desired as a warm mahogany red. This is probably my favourite shade out of all the ones I’ve picked up.

The most recent addition to my Lip Lingerie Collection is Teddy. There is no surprise that I am super late to the brown lip band wagon. I wasn’t too sure what to expect from this warm, rich brown shade. To be honest I didn’t think it would suit me. However as soon as I put it on I loved the shade.

Out of all three shades I own I find Teddy to have the worst formula. I have naturally pigmented lips and I found the shade to be really patchy on me. Whether it’s the actual formula or my natural lip colour. I don’t have a brown lip liner to see if that makes a difference. In the swatches above I’ve swiped Teddy a few times so it’s not patchy on my skin, Exotic is two swipes and Push Up is one swipe.

I do find that they don’t layer very well, it’s better to completely wipe it all off then to reapply.  They are also quite drying after wearing them for a few hours. However my favourite thing about all these Lip Lingeries is that they are so long wearing! I can apply this in the morning, have something to eat and drink and carry on with my day. And I still find very little has flaked off. Like literally nothing comes off except maybe a little on the inner part of the lips.

Overall I do enjoy using Exotic and Push Up, maybe because they’re lighter shades they have a better formula than Teddy. I love how long they last and how little they flake when eating and drinking. Saying that though they are pretty easy to wipe off using makeup removing oils.

Thank you so much for reading! What are your favourite lip products? Until next time!

I love their lip creams and liquid suede cream lipsticks but I haven’t tried the lip lingerie yet. Love the shades exotic and push up, I’m definitely going to check them out next time I go to boots x

This is my absolute fave!!! I know sometimes they can be a bit drying but it doesn’t really bother me too much. I find them a good cheap alternative to Kylie Kenner lippies so, I’m not complaining! Great post 💃💃

I have exotic. I laughed when I saw the swatch on your hand. It’s so crazy how colors can look so different on different skin tones. If you hadn’t labeled it, I would’ve never guessed that was exotic. Such a beautiful shade on every skin tone though. Great post!
