Urban Decay Heavy Metals Glitter Liner | Review

Hi everyone! I first came across the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Glitter Liner range on YouTube watching Nikkie Tutorials. I don’t remember the shade she used but I was so impressed at how beautiful the glitter looked on her eyes, that I knew I needed it in my life. So on my next trip to a Debenhams that stocked Urban Decay I made sure to pick one up.

The first shade I picked up was Distortion, which is a white iridescent shade.  Since then I have used Distortion a handful of times. More recently I have picked up the shade Midnight Cowboy, so many of my favourite YouTubers have used this shade, but every time I went to nab it, it was never in stock. However, even though online both on Debenhams and Urban Decay it said it was out of stock a few months ago, when I asked in-store Debenhams they had Midnight Cowboy! Of course he came home with me.

Described on UrbanDecay.co.uk as:

Eyeliner provides a heavy dose of glam-rock—minus the frequent stints in rehab. Want to know the bad girl way to wear eyeliner? Use Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal Eyeliner range. Intense, sparkling and totally covetable, rock a sparkling liner for a truly individual look.

Because the glitter is suspended in a gel, it won’t separate in the bottle (so you don’t need to shake it like you do with watery formulas). Peach and cucumber extract condition the skin, while carrot extract smooths and softens.

Wear Heavy Metal alone, apply it over our legendary Eyeshadow or layer two shades together for a more intense glam-rock effect. The precise, thin-tipped brush makes it easy to create fine, glittery lines. Want more sparkle? Use the side of the brush to sweep sparkle all over your lids.

Distortion is a beautiful iridescent shade and Midnight Cowboy is a champagne golden glitter. For £15 you get 7.5ml of product. Which might not seem like a lot. But whenever I apply the Heavy Metals I really don’t use much. I apply two coats of the glitter if I want an intense glitter, which is only two dips into the bottle. Personally I think they’ll last me ages! I use them both every so often and it looks like barely anything has been used! What I really love about these glitters is that they don’t irritate my sensitive skin or my eyes when they’re applied and they are super easy to wash off!

I recently used Midnight Cowboy in my Easy Festival Makeup, if you want to see it in action! I used Distortion in my  Ice Queen makeup tutorial.

Overall I love the Heavy Metals range from Urban Decay. I think their pigmentation is amazing! I also find that when I apply it on my eyelids it doesn’t give a burning sensation or irritates my eyes, like I have found with other glitter liners. There are 7 shades in total in the Heavy Metals range and I definitely have my eye on picking up one or two more.

Thank you so much for reading! What is your favourite glitter liner?

Until next time!

Such a great post! I have to be super careful with anything rough around my eyes, which glitter definitely is when I have to take it off so it’s great to hear that this isn’t like that! 🌺💖
